How to Activate Call waiting Service on NTC sim (Nepal Telecom)

Yesterday I was amazed with a sms from Nepal Telecom. The message was regarding call waiting service activation on my prepaid sim card. Call waiting service is a value added service that enables user to take a call while being busy in another call as simultaneously.  This service notifies you of another incoming call during a conversation and allows you to keep the first caller on hold and answer the second call. You will hear a beep whenever there is another call waiting to be answered.

The message from NT was as:

“On the occasion of 13th anniversary of NT, call waiting is implemented in your number.Dial *43# to activate, #43# to deactivate and *#43# to check the status.”

So from the message it was clear that state owned mobile operator Nepal Telecom has now provided call waiting service to its subscriber on the occasion of 13th anniversary. Previously it was provided only to new sim cards i.e. number start from “9860” but now I guess all users can enjoy the service for free.
